Travel information
Note that the
conference starts in the morning of Monday, March 18, and ends at
Friday
noon (March 22). Thus, participants are expected to
arrive in the
afternoon or evening of Sunday, March 17 (check in starts
at 4pm), and to leave on Friday
after
lunch. On Sunday evening there will be a light dinner with
sandwiches and a beer keg.
Arriving by train
We recommend to go to "Tegernsee" by train and then to continue to Ringberg Castle by taxi. The trains leave from Munich central station ("Hauptbahnhof") and are called BOB (for "Bayerische Oberlandesbahn"). The trains usually leave from platforms 33 or 34, see the map below. You can buy the tickets for the BOB trains at the BOB vending office close to those platforms. The timetable of the BOB can be found here (as you will see the train ride between Munich and Tegernsee takes about 1 hour). After arriving at the final stop "Tegernsee", please take a taxi to Ringberg Castle. If you do not see a taxi waiting at the train station, you could call Taxi Jasinski: Tel. +49 (0)8022 / 95 0 99. Reaching the central railway station ("Hauptbahnhof")
From munich airport there are two different S-Bahn lines (S1and S8) which go to the central railway station ("Hauptbahnhof") and need both about 50 minutes to arrive there. You can use different tickets:

Transportation on Sunday March 17 (from MPP)
For all of those who will travel from Munich directly: the MPP car is reserved (now booked out!) and will depart from the old location of the MPP (Föhringer Ring 6, 80805 Munich) on Sunday the 17th at 4pm.
