Course on Effective Field Theories
X. Graduiertenkurse Physik
Institut für theoretische Physik
Universität Heidelberg
22. - 25. April 2003
Effective theories have proven to be a very useful tool in the systematic
understanding of quantum chromodynamics in domains where the dynamics is still
partly governed by perturbation theory. Effective theory methods are also used
in many other areas of particle physics. The lecture will give a basic
introduction into the concepts, technicalities and applications of effective
theories with some emphasis on quantum chromodynamics and heavy quark physics.
Note that the download of the lecture notes will only be
possible for the duration of the course.
